The BBQ Burger

One project that was at the top of my list when starting food photography was the Burger Challenge. I know it sounds simple, but getting a good shot of a burger and making it look good and style is not as easy as you would think. However, I did learn my lesson from the taco shoot and made an extra burger just for the photo.

For this, I used a decorative plate and a darker table for the setting. In some of the initial photos, it looked a bit boring, so I added the onion and tomato for some extra color and movement. The challenge of this photo was making sure all the burger elements could be seen. The buns, sauces, and all the things that went into it.

Lesson #1: Bacon grease can add a nice shine to objects. Just be careful how much and how you apply.

Lesson #2: The tripod can be a help and a hindrance.

Just as an FYI, there will normally only be one post per week. This week just happens to have a few that I have built up to launch the site.
