October was a great month, full of food, friends, and fighting (safely).
First, I had some amazing food in October. I know that’s really all you want to know about, so let’s get that out of the way. However, since moving, I have not had a good staging area for food photography yet. I am currently working on this project and hope to remedy this soon.
Moving back to the Midwest was one of the most brilliant things I have ever done. I am so happy to be back in this area; life is fuller and more beautiful.
I had the opportunity to travel to Chickasha, Oklahoma, at the end of October to work at the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma (USAO). My brilliant and talented friend, Katie Davis, runs the program there and is doing amazing work with her students. I was fortunate to get invited to choreograph the violence for their production of King Lear. What a fantastic group of students on this production. I was also able to sit in on a few classes and host a broadsword workshop.

One of my most significant issues is that I rarely get a chance to take pictures while working. I am trying to get better at this. A perfect example would be back in April when I was working with Santa Barbara Opera on their production of Zorro. The only pictures I managed to get were of the amazing cast and crew on the opening night. So, this is something I need to improve upon.
Now that things are settling down, and I no longer feel like I am digging myself out of a pile of boxes or chasing my tail around, I will work on posting on a regular basis and providing real content.
